The Continental Fire Co. (Bonfire) - Houghton, MI

The Continental Fire Co. & Bonfire Restaurant is a modernized venue perfect for your wedding or reception. This 160+ year-old brick building is full of Keweenaw history. Originally, this building served as Houghton's first firehall, and later, Michigan Mining School (now Michigan Tech) held its first classes there. Over the years, it has been elegantly converted into a beautiful venue that is capable of hosting large parties. With a full-sized kitchen and bar, this venue can also provide all the food & drinks for your big day.

The Rozsa Center at Michigan Tech - Houghton, MI

The Rozsa Center provides several unique spaces for hosting your wedding or reception. The soaring 160-foot glass wall, 20-foot ceilings, and neutral color scheme of the Samuel and Grace Horner lobby provide the perfect backdrop for your big day. Beyond the main lobby area, there is also banquet space, a reception area, a theater, wet bar, on-site catering, and event coordination available at this modern venue.

Keweenaw Heritage Center - Calumet, MI

The Keweenaw Heritage Center, formerly St. Anne's Church, is a massive Jacobsville sandstone church with a gabled roof and front spire reaching 140 feet into the air. The upstairs church space is perfect for weddings, and the basement level includes a kitchen for hosting your reception. Located right on Main Street Calumet, the Keweenaw Heritage Center is within minutes of several lodging and dining options, as well as several coffee shops, gift stores, and art galleries.

Calumet Theatre - Calumet, MI

Step back in time for your wedding day by hosting your wedding party at the Calumet Theatre. The Calumet Theatre is the oldest municipally built and owned theatre in the country and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Architecturally stunning, with exquisite fine details, built-in acoustics, and  elegant paintings above the stage, this theatre could be the perfect venue for you. Stage weddings are available, and the ballroom upstairs is perfect for hosting your reception.  

 

Outdoor Venues

Swathed in sunshine, deeply-hued blue skies, vast Keweenaw forests, and that invigorating Lake Superior breeze. Late spring, summer, and fall seasons are perfect for hosting an outdoor wedding in the Keweenaw. Here are some of our favorite outdoor venues for your wedding day! 

Chassell Pavilion & Fire Hall Rental - Chassell, MI

Chassell is the perfect town for a quiet summer wedding. The breeze off Portage Lake will keep you cool under the summer sun, and the pavilion provides a nice shady spot to enjoy a meal with your guests. There is a kitchen available adjacent to the Pavilion, as well as park accommodations. 

McLain State Park - Hancock, MI

Our beloved McLain State Park features towering pine forest, sand and pebble Lake Superior shoreline, a breakwall, and views of the Keweenaw Waterway Upper Entrance Light. McLain State Park offers pavilion rentals, with views of Lake Superior. Our pro-tip is to schedule your beachside ceremony around sunset.

Hidden Pines Barn - Calumet, MI

The Hidden Pines Barn provides an open-air barn style venue, with rustic touches. Tucked behind the town of Calumet and hidden by pine trees, this adorable barn may be right for you.  Beautiful wooden benches can be set up in the barn or outside for your official ceremony. Many parties will use the barn space as a reception area, but depending on the season and temperature, some opt to hold their reception in the neighboring Siskiwit Reception Hall & Conference Center.

Hunters Point Park - Copper Harbor, MI

Beachside ceremonies in Copper Harbor? We got you. Hunter's Point Park allows ceremonies on the beach during park hours. No reservation is required and you must bring your own supplies. This may be a great place to set up a homemade driftwood alter and grab some photos on your special day.
