Art Galleries

Mountainous landscape views, Great Lake Superior, and pristine wilderness are constant sources of inspiration to the many talented local artists and artisans who call the Keweenaw their home. You can hear Mother Nature speak through their work.  And maybe their work calls to you. 

The Keweenaw’s art galleries are found in Houghton, Hancock, Calumet, and Copper Harbor, and you’ll find many locally produced works in small giftshops. The Rozsa, located on Michigan Tech’s campus is the largest of its kind in the Keweenaw and features exhibits from local and international artists. The Finnish American Heritage Center hosts North America’s largest collection of Finnish-American artwork. Also in Hancock, the Copper Country Community Arts Center offers three galleries of locally and regionally produced art for sale. In Calumet, visitors will find a collection of galleries in the historic downtown area including the Calumet Art Center and several private galleries.
